    Coursework requirement: 7 (4 core & 3 elective with which 2 from primary disciplines) courses completed by the end of the probationary period.

  4. Research Ethics
    University’s Policy on Research Integrity (http://www.rss.hku.hk/integrity/rcr/policy),
    “All experiments or other forms of research project, where the University has an interest, involving consent of human participants and the use of vertebrate animal subjects must obtain prior approval of the appropriate Ethics Committee.”Staff and research students should refer their research protocols for review and clearance by the Faculty Research Ethics Committee (FREC) and the Human Research Ethics Committee for Non-Clinical Faculties (HRECNCF) (except for EdD students whose applications do not need to go to the HRECNCF).     Ethical approval must be obtained before any data collection involving human participants. Staff and research students are strongly advised to submit their application for ethical approval to the Office of Research as early as possible, at least 6 weeks before data collection or the deadline set by funding bodies for obtaining ethical approval.
